VastPark and Assyst Win the Virtual World Technology Contract with USDA
VastPark and Assyst have been awarded a major US government contract to supply Virtual World solutions for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
VastPark's Virtual World and social network platform was the technology at the center of the bid. As part of the vGov initiative, the 4 year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, multi-vendor contract will enable the Government to build, customize and host interactive, persistent Virtual Worlds where users can operate over networks for the purposes of collaboration, training, rehearsal, analysis, simulation, experimentation and socialization.
Lori Kavle, President of VastPark US stated, "This win demonstrates the strengths of the VastPark technology and the desire of the U.S. Government to implement a Virtual World platform based on open standards. Integral to the win is our partnership with Assyst. They are innovative, have an outstanding track record and extensive experience meeting the IT needs of the government over the last 20 years".
